E9 + e46 m3

The 5-speed, is cheaper, lighter, shorter, and has more robust synchros. 6th gear in the 6-speed is overdrive, so you don't buy much.

Yes, I'll be using the electronic throttle pedal. It's essentially the same process/parts as swapping an S54 into an E30, which has been explained in a number of threads on the R3V forums.

Finally an update! A double hernia, prepping the race car for the season, and work have kept me away from the E9.

I just mocked up the AKG Motorsport front control arms, and it looks like they are going to bolt right on with no modifications! I just have to weld two nut plates to the E9 framerails to attach the rear brackets. Waiting on some front struts/coilovers so I can confirm placement before welding.

Those control arms for an E36? E46?

What struts/coilovers you doing? E30-type?

Control Arms from AKG are the DTM-style for E30/E36.

I obviously want to stay 5-lug, so I'm using E36 knuckles. Just ordered coilovers from Ground control, they'll use E36 strut tubes, so they'll bolt right up to the control arms and knuckles. Also ordered E9 camber plates from Ground Control, so it will all be compatible and plug-and-play!

How is this project going? I live near Manassas and have Gp2 CSL clone if I can be of any help.
Also interetsed in contact info for the Manassas BMW parts collection.
Thanks
Clarke
