E9 Individual Colors...

OK,

I went and looked at the car...

It certainly does NOT look like a factory job to me. You can see where they masked the stickers, the rubber weatherstripping, etc. off when it was painted and didn't quite mask it perfectly so there is obvious overspray.

You can see the original Polaris underneath the light green.

The previous owner showed up to discuss it as well and claimed that it was already Polaris and BMW took the car and painted it after the fact, but for the life of me, I cannot see why BMW would do such a thing. They are the factory, unpainted shells should be sitting around ready to be done. I think it was shipped to Hoffman in Polaris and either they arranged Hoffman to paint it or something else. I mean, it's definitely old, but it wasn't done prior to assembly.

Anyhow, the car was less than impressive to me, regardless of the color, as it's just another tired and unrestored example in my opinion with typical rust issues manifesting. I will try to post pictures soon.

The worst part was the interminable flight home...

PPI's are SO worth it though...

Perusing for interesting and appealing colors. Custom or otherwise, these colors should have been available.
