e9 is No 3 on this list These Are 10 Of The Most Gorgeous Sports Cars From The 1970s

The 70's didn't produce many good looking cars. On this list the Ferrari, E9, Miura, and Pantera (a revised Mangusta) are all 60's cars that happened to roll over into the early 70's. They obviously ran out of 70's cars so top list 10 had to include some 60s cars as well as the Lancia and Alfa :( . I think I'd have to put the 240Z #1 of pure 70's sports cars.

Pretty good company! Agree with Dick, the sixties put out the best designs ever and car companies still go back to that decade for inspiration. Can't believe our e9s beat out the Miura on that list. To me, the Miura is the most beautiful car ever made. If my wife wins the Lotto tonight, I'm buying her (me) one for Christmas.

Great list, but a bit random and yes some of their choices do straddle over from 1960’s. So on that basis I think they totally missed two of the most stunning iconic cars ever made and that were the hero cars of the 1970’s - the Ferrari Dino GT and the G body 911.

The Vantage shouldn't even be on the list let alone number 2 IMHO... The 365BB should definitely be in the top 3...

I'll exercise my brain here.

Volvo P1800 Shooting Brake was exclusively sold in the 70s, but may be cheating as it is based on a way earlier design.
First prototype of the DeLorean was in 1976. A true 1970s design, though obviously not built until 1981.
One could argue the Series 2 XJ coupe, though it is an iteration of an earlier car.
The R107/C107 Mercedes is a true 1970s car, and a very good car.

Gee, that's about it. Everything else was a carryover from the 60s.

Edit: I thought of a few more.
- I believe the Mercedes Gelandewagen was designed in the early/mid-70s. It was not cool in the beginning, but has become retroactively cool.
- Maserati Bora, Merak, and Khamsin were all 70s cars. Bora was introduced in 1971, so no doubt it was designed in the late 60s.
- Of course we have our BMWs... the E24 deserves a mention here. The E12 is very iterative on the E3 I think, but the E21 is a really excellent little car. Perhaps not one of the most 'gorgeous' cars of the 70s, but definitely on the Greatest Hits track.
- I am truly surprised the Countach wasn't mentioned, as that came out in like 1974.
- The Rolls Royce Corniche is by no means a bad-looking car, especially in the context of the era.

Of course, interesting or good doesn't necessarily equate to beautiful. Of all those, I think the Bora is the best-looking... but the Ghibli looked so much better.
