E9/m5 design update

This coupe / coupe body is going to have a frame instead of being uni-body ??? I certainly missed that part of the thread. I was wondering how the car was going to have working (air exhausting) gills when the MacPherson strut is between the gill and the engine compartment, with a A-frame type front suspension that wouldn’t be a problem. ~ John Buchtenkirch

I'm curious to know the approach as well. It's an award winning shop. They mostly do body on frame projects, but I'm sure they will come up with something. I own an old Cherokee and it's very common in the off-roading community to plate the cherokee's uniframe. They basically use custom formed u channel and plug weld it to the existing sheet metal. My guess is that this shop will also add cross bracing similar to their production frames.
 
still working on details

We are still working on a number of details..tinting, finishes and wheel size but the surface representations are getting better.

I personally think it looked better in the previous renderings (side view + 3quarter rear) where you had the leading edge of the fender flares higher up on the flares.
It has too much of a banana shape currently (rear fender to edge of door) and on the front fender it messes/interferes with your wheel arch too much. Just my 2 cents.

P.S.: maybe you didn't even change the geometry and it's just the render style and angle you chose?
 
I did beef up the tire size but rest is the same. Really will not know all those dimensions until we design the chassis and I can figure out what size tires I will run. I want to keep the back seat so your only choice will be to let the flares accommodate the rubber. Working on the rest of the renders so could just be the angle.
