After all this time, I'm continuing the thread (if possible). I need the 3.0, CS & Automatic badges. I have the old ones, but the pins are all off. Any ideas?

I don't use the pins anymore for mounting the badges of the hood. I close the holes and use this Pattex repair filler to get an even surface on the backside of the badge. Then I fix the batch with this 3M tape, temperature range -40°C to +90°C, UV and water resistant. 20240226_121922.jpg

Thanks TH. That may be an option. I thought of drilling out the pins to JBWeld some 2mm or 2.5mm threaded rod in their place and use nuts and washers to hold them in place. Very fiddly, but I still need to refurbish the face. Can these be re-chromed?

The latest ones I have purchased have been excellent. Correct weight and good look.

If its 225 mm long and the A is 15mm high I have a decent one with 3 hollow pins. Pretty sure its e9, but possibly 2002IMG_1321.jpegIMG_1322.jpeg

as i remember, there were 2 different Automatic badges used on the coupe (i could be wrong) ... as well as 2 mounting locations. the 2800cs was different.

Thanks Ian C. Yes, mine is identical. The 'hollow pins' are actually where the 2.5-3mm pins have broken off. The depth of the lettering would make it almost impossible to drill out and sink a pin (threaded or otherwise) into. So, a 3M solution would be the go here, leaving what is left of the existing pins to serve to locate the badge. Thanks again for your input.
(Ps. Nice part of the world; Not related to the Kelly's? Only ozzies would get that) ;)
