Hi E9rs,
Does anyone know where i can get a new Wiper Motor covering cap, and associated gaskets/screws/bolts.
I have seen them on a few CSLs and they look almost brand new.

I have looked around but no luck so far.

I do not think they are available new. I've searched for about two years before one surfaced.

And the debate is when were they introduced on coupes?

Has anyone looked after using their wipers in the rain to see if the thing gets wet....ie perhaps over-engineered and not needed?

I know these weren’t on early coupes or 2002s, I thought perhaps 74 and later.

I believe you are correct, 74 and later.
Do they provide any benefit?

You can find them on e12’s and early e24’s. I got mine from an e12 base 633. Subsequently sold to a forum member as it not longer fits the theme of my project.

Definitely less chance of moisture/water inside the motor.

I have been searching too need find one to borrow for 3D modeling & printing.

It will be returned undamaged.

Having mine get toasted by water intrusion in Winchester VA on the way the The Vintage in Asheville 2018 & having to drive wiperless on I-81 South in the rain & spray. I modified one for a 2002 which is better than nothing.
