Hi all,
I managed to find a clutch pedal for my auto-to-manual swap. My car is a '74 and the pedal I bought came from an early '73 car. If I understand correctly, the early vs late clutch pedals are bit different, which I've tried to capture in this table:
Based on the parts diagrams, it appears the only difference is the tang of metal that accommodates the over-center spring. Since my late pedal box is set up for the over-center return spring, I'd like to modify my early pedal to accept it.
Does anyone have a "late" clutch pedal sitting on their shelf that could measure the following:
Thanks in advance!
I managed to find a clutch pedal for my auto-to-manual swap. My car is a '74 and the pedal I bought came from an early '73 car. If I understand correctly, the early vs late clutch pedals are bit different, which I've tried to capture in this table:
| "Early" Clutch Pedal | "Late" Clutch Pedal | |
| Date Range | ≤ 10/1973 | 10/1973+ |
| Part No. | 35311100733 | 35311112267 |
| Pedal Box Compatibility | All years | 10/1973+ pedal box |
| Return Spring | Traditional return spring | Over-center assist/return spring (35311111504) |
- a: distance between centers of the return spring pivot and the clutch pedal pivot
- b: approximate height of tang
- c: diameter of return spring pivot hole
- d: Are both holes inline with each other on the horizontal plane? If not, what is the distance from the top of the pedal to the center of the return spring pivot?
Thanks in advance!
