Has anyone used one of his EI Distributors for the M30 engine? I think the company is actually called Everything Alfa but I originally saw the listing on Ebay. They look pretty good.

I use something similar on my Fairlady and it's fantastic. You can run a 12V MSD blaster coil w/ a much bigger spark plug gap and the engine just runs so much smoother.

consider 123 ignition

the new distributors from 123 ignition are gaining popularity within the Jag club.
I know of quite a few E-type and xk owners who've used them and highly recommend them. They are a bit pricey, but you get a lot more than just a points replacement (e.g. Pertronix).

Thanks! It's great to have the manufacturer's website - with installation manual :-)

I am going to go for it. I love the one I have on my Fairlady.

Ordered it today. Where is a good place to get plug wires, spark plugs and a decent coil - all at once?

You're killing me John - where did you get your EI dizzy for $450?

Thanks for the tips on the wires folks.

Received my EI Dizzy today. I'm a bit frustrated because I don't have the correct hex key to open it and hook up to my computer. So off to the hardware store!

Programmable centrifugal advance and programmable vacuum advance/retard.

Combine this with a good set of different carb jets, and a dyno and I bet you can get a carb'd car running almost as well as fuel injection. Oh and probably a LOT of "know-how" required too.

Regards,
James
