Has anyone got these ?

Not sure if they're original E9 ones, but they are stamped BMW. I've never seen them on another car.

They're on my parts car, was thinking of installing them on my main one, not sure about the wiring though.

Yes, but a very rare option, I have never seen them.
Your link is interesting, I always find it odd how some strange parts are still available, but ones that you would think are more "common" are not :?

On US cars were they installed on both sides?

Anybody:
Could you post a picture of the electric mirrors so I can see what they look like
TIA

Thanks guys, they're the ones alright.

They look really good. Very heavy though.

I'll post a picture when I have a chance.

Paul Cain had electric mirror on the 3.8 CSi

IIRC his site told where he got 'em, it was another bimmer of similar vintage.

They are quite big, I prefer them to the flimsy little older ones which are currently on my car.

The factory e9 parts microfiche contains a picture of a support for the electric mirror. Although it was a long time ago when I viewed the microfiche, I remember this support was a sheet metal piece shaped to the contour of the area of the door where the mirror mounts. I assume it was spot welded into position. I have never seen this piece in either the white or orange parts books. I don't recall if there were left and right
sides.
Hope this helps,
Peter A.

Can someone post a picture of what the switches look like on the inside?

Are there two switches, one for each mirror?

Or is there one switch and can change the side on that switch? Also where are they mounted?

I had these on my E3 3.0L in Australia on both driver and passenger side. It was a 1977. As I watch the E9 market in Europe, I can confirm that I have seen these mirrors on the very last of the E9s... that is on the rare occasion I happen to see one instead of he more prevalent 1970-1973's...

I originally wanted a set for my E9 but have since come to the conclusion I like the classic smaller mirrors that have less visual weight than the electric mirrors.

Have them on both sides. Will post pics later today.

Can you tell me if it has a seperate wiring loom/grommits going through the door/bulkhead or do they share the same loom w/the power windows wiring?

I need the wiring that goes on the changeover switch and I need the switch itself (although a porsche switch looks pretty similar).
