Hello,

I´ve developed a electric speedometer conversion kit for the BMW E9. With that system you don´t have to buy a very expensive Getrag with manual drive. With my system you can use every 5 or 6 gear transmission you want. You can also use every the rear differential or tire size you want.

Another plus is, that you can use the electric speedo signal for implementing a cruise control or a boardcomputer.

Price 650 Euros for converting your speedo into electric. I also need the information which tire size you actually use.

Very cool. Once the instrument is converted is there any way to recalibrate it if changing diff/gearbox ratio later down the track?
 
Does this work via GPS like some of them do out there or is it taking a signal from the transmission in some way?
 
Hello,

No, it is a conversion to the later E24/E30 system so that it is kompatible to their cruise control and Boardcomputer systems. It uses the circumference of the wheels and a electric motor. Actually I am going one step further developing a system which can bei mounted to the original manual speedo cable below the car, but I still have big problems with the regulation and programmring specific conversion data so that you can combine what ever you want. Maybe in a few month I can present a universal kit, so that you even must not take off the original speedo.
Thats the system at the moment
