Engine bogging from idle.

My 72 CSA has its Zenith carbs synced perfectly. Idle is smooth as silk but engine boggs when I give it gas. The accelerator jets
are shooting to much gas and wet the butterflies. How can I reduce the amount of gas they shoot.

Are the vacuum hoses in place on the ignition retarder? Your description give me the idea there is something chanced with the ignition.

When you accelerate, the engine suddenly receives a lot of oxygen and fuel, causing the ignition to be advanced. This is done by the vacuum that drops when you accelerate, advancing the ignition.

Look for the scheme for your engine. E.g.
