Exhaust leak question

Right, thanks. I'm thinking of trying Permatex Muffler and Tailpipe Sealer. It gets good reviews on Amazon & I've used the Permatex Form-a-Gasket sealants for years w/ good results.

I've also read that ordinary furnace cement, available at hardware stores, works on exhaust systems. It's very heat-resistant, but I don't know how well it would hold up to exhaust pressures. I read that it goes on like putty, dies hard & can be easily disassembled if need be.

I applied the Permatex, let it cure, and started the car. I didn't hear or feel any exhaust leak at the joint. Took a test drive & noticed improvement. Will study situation more b4 declaring complete victory.
