Uhmm.. Shame he took a perfect, stock car to bastardize... As much as I like hotrods.

And I don't think a couple "rods" in the "channels" (whatever that means) is really going to do much of it really has 850hp going through it...

This is probably the jealous me talking, but....I don't see how 205mm wide front and 225mm wide tires, along with very limited suspension and chassis stiffening mods, can handle 850 HP either in a straight line or at the track. There are "bragging rights" with that set up, but little else. It's sort of the opposite of the full tricked out 1970s car...slammed, fender flares, huge tires, ground effect package, spoilers, etc...and a stock drivetrain.

Not sure why all the hate.

Looks pretty pedestrian on the outside.

Incredible drivetrain. I think I'd have a whole lotta fun in it.
No hate, it's just a lot of sh*t crammed in a small, old bag. I think it would offer limited fun. You can't go back road it really. If it spooled up anywhere near a corner, you'd be off in a split second. The trans sounds like a dog cut affair as he has to wear ear plugs to drive it and yes, in a straight line it would be a hoot but probably only for a short time. It's lovely and if he dropped the turbo and just had a modded S38, it might be more usable... Kudos for seeing it through but I don't think it would be more fun than a 300hp hotrod coupe. My 2 cents which is exactly what it's worth...

Folks are getting 2000hp on Toyota Supra straight 6s. 2jz motors.

Article says he's wanting a smaller turbo. Probably way too peaky and wants more torque and a flatter curve.

Seriously, three times stock hp?
indeed.... i know of somebody getting 900...1100 HP in a 928.... look at the F1 car with M10 BMW 4 banger !
Most NA engines are restricted by the CFM flow the head(s) can give.....not if you push it through it with 2...3 bar.

How long it last ? till it explodes :D

The motor had to be rebuilt from the bottom up to take that big turbo and lots of boost. With big turbos comes lag. Fun but wondering when that hit is coming when you're mid corner would be no fun!
