For sale from our Barn Find: a factory reconditioned block with piano top pistons(euro) with the tell-tale HONE MARKS and LACK of ridges at the top of the cyliner walls that confirm the 31,000 kilometers on the engine claimed by the previous owner.
According to the previous owner, the guy who owned the 1975 CSi before him rolled it over on its roof!
With the engine still running. The head and block were starved for oil. Put the car in a container and sent it back to BMW in Germany. BMW installed the reconditioned block and head, did all the body work and re-sprayed in the original color. We found a couple of places that confirmed the re-spray.
We have the odometer with 31,000 kilometers on it.
The previous owner had no documentation beyond the title. And the obvious fact that a once lovely CSi had sat in his barn for five years.
