I heard good things about Facet fuel pumps and got one of these. It's still in the package and after watching some youtube videos about how loud they are I'm thinking about returning it or not using it. I'm assuming the block style pumps are diaphragm? Should I go with the round style instead? I went with the small one because the GPM rating was adequate enough.

Well, never mind. :) It's too late to return the pump and after talking with a guy here at work that has used similar pumps, I've decided to give it a go. He said after using rubber bushings on the mount most of the noise went away so at lunch I found some isolation bushings on the shelf and will try those. Hoping for the best...

I predict that with those rubber isolation blocks, the sound won't bother you. Especially if the pump is mounted below the trunk floor where the car's sheetmetal will help to damp the the sound. You'll hear it at start-up, but at any speed, the road noise / wind noise will drown it out.

Those cube-style pumps work OK. I think the cylindrical ones are a bit more robust and may last longer. But unless you put high mileage on your e9, that cube-style pump will last a long time
