Well that didn't take long but my newly acquired '73 looks like it was turned over for quick sale. Anyway, the master clutch cylinder is failing and we can't locate a new one. Does anyone have any suggestions where to look for a new one or best way to rebuild?

Bummer. They’re easy to rebuild. I rebuilt mine 12 years ago and it’s still going strong.

New units are not cheap, but still available:

Walloth 20€ discount code W20XT for orders over 200€.

Would be a good time to swap a new slave while you‘re in there.

Awesome. @JMinPDX Thanks for the quick reply. I'll check it out.

If anyone knows of any other domestic sources who may have one please let me know.

Here’s the FTE rebuild kit I used. It’s available from fcpEuro for $11.39 :)
They show an ATE kit for $46.00 but it’s back ordered.

I tried the clutch master (part # 21521100784) through BMW but it comes up as unavailable.

Try rock auto or parts geek. You’d be amazed what they have… be hyper critical of some of it though. I’ve received some wrong parts from them. They always took them back but it’s frustrating.

Thanks all for the help and support. Will look into all these options.

@sfdon originally I was hoping to keep it as original as possible then reflecting on the M90 engine with DCOE Webers and the 3.0SC”L” decal I realized the humor and futility in my desire to stay “stock” :D
