Famous 3.0 CSL owners

For better or worse I just took a look a short time ago at Gina Gershon's 74 BMW 3.0CS Automatic Malaga and Tan in L.A.

She is selling it and has owned it since 1996 I believe.

I passed on it.

Famous E9 Owners

Hi,

I Own 2 Interesting E9 Coupes.

George Harrison (Beatles) CSA - Reg Number LYR111K
Jay Kay CSL BATMOBILE

Maybe of Interest.

Thanks.

Hi FOOTYBATMOBILEMAN!

Congrats to two nice E9 cars.

I'm curious about the Jay Kay CSL Batmobile. Do you have the VIN (2275xxx or 4355xxx) of that CSL Batmobile? Color? Pictures?

Cheers

I went to look at the Jay Kay bat a good few years ago up in Scotland.

Is it still in the UK?

Regards,
Rohan

I was at Munich Legends a few weeks ago and they showed me a CSL they were rebuilding for Jay Kay. It was a black one, but didn't get the VIN. Its being rebuilt as a daily driver complete with top end, but hidden, sound system. No expense spared, ML said the respray was going to be of the order of £20k. It was in bits and looked a few months away from completion.

When I bought my 2800 CS (#2270335) from Claremont Auto Sales in Berkeley, California in 1989, the proprietor claimed that the car had been originally owned by George Lucas of "Star Wars" fame. When I asked for documentation, he said : "go to the DMV and ask them". Now, if you have ever dealt with the DMV you would realize how funny that suggestion was, especially 21 years ago. At that time, they were probably running on tube computers, and couldn't tell you who owned a car at present, let alone 19 years ago. I never bothered to substantiate that claim.

Still, if anyone knows whether George Lucas ever owned a silver coupe, please let me know. The car did have a sticker in the doorjamb from "PeeWee's Detailing" in Marin, so maybe.

Hi,
Jay Kays CSL Bat is indeed in the UK and is in Polarus Silver,
George Harrisons CSA will probably be available for sale shortly.
Regards.

He used to have a bat - it was sold a few years back now. He now has a polaris silver csl.

First impressions can be deceiving. Is it?

Tundra? Doubtful with the window frame. But then, what is it?
