It's that time again! (Que air raid sirens..)
If you find yourself and your E9 in Monterey on Friday at LOTA '16, get your trigger finger ready for another installment of the ongoing saga: Fastest Windows of the West-2016!!
As in previous episodes, the rules are, well, they're really are none....
There are, however, some simple contestant guidelines:
With doors closed (owner's choice of driver or passenger side), timing will start with window in full upright position, then to completely down, then back up to the top to stop the clock.
This lite hearted contest is open to any E9, original survivors to just completed, highly modified resto-mods, manual or power windows. This is a 'run (roll?) what ya brung', a wide open, vertical drag race of truth against Father Time.
The shootout on the lawn will happen in the early afternoon after more 'official' event activities have subsided.
Graciously, LOTA will again this year award the victor a unique prize that is sure to be the pride and joy of any trophy case or mantel.
So, game on and have some fun with it folks!
Will the trophy stay stateside or go overseas?
Will the long haul drivin' E9er possies from the East return with a coveted West Coast nugget?
Will the historically fast Manuals threaten to take the victory from the guillotine quick Electrical shock of last year ?! (a new record set at 5.5sec!)
Will the the reigning 2015 champion (a lovely Tiaga CSL) be present to defend its title and FWIW record?
Who knows?
Only time will tell.
