Felt strips rear window available

Seems expensive, I got mine from Walloth 51326654262 31.05 one is "almost" enough

Does anyone know if you need 2 or 4 of these for our cars?
Is it 1 on each side, therefore 2 for the car?
Or is it 2 on each side, therefore 4 for the car?
Thanks in advance!

Well, it was me who started this thread, seems I am supposed to explain. 20250414_184212.jpg
These felt strips act as a seal at the inner sides of the rear windows. One for the left, one for the right side, so two per car.
The original ones are no longer available, this is the replacement part.

A metal strip, coated by a layer of rubber, with a wool strip on the upper edge
The original seal with an extra cotton layer surrounding the rubber and a thick wool strip. The new part, just rubber with wool coating on the upper edge.
For changing the seal the rivets need to be removed.

.....to be continued

Thank you, that is what I thought, but then realized I had never actually held one of these parts and wanted to confirm I buy the correct amount - much appreciated!

Just got around to installing these. Really nice parts, happy they are available again. Modifying and fitting them is pretty straight forward. I’d recommend gluing them as well as riveting to avoid “waves”…the glass will probably hold them flat but with my ocd I think ill just redo this one haha

Here are some pics:

Hi James, excellent work!
Which rivets do you use? Should be a very flat type, in order to avoid contact with the glass

Good question about the rivets. I looked into this a while ago, and gave up as the original rivets seemed to be of the clinch type; cilinders that you squash flat. these are the same that hold the headliner to the body in the top front corner of the roof flange in the door openings.

Do you have a pic of the headliner rivet? I have to install that soon a nd don’t recall any rivets in mine before..!

The ones I used on the felt are just standard 3mm blind rivets. The rubber of the felt compressed enough from the rivets that they don’t protrude significantly.
