Just finished with rebuilding my coupe, did alot of mods to car including a-arms ,coilovers, raised pivot points of wish bone , with out wacking up car. I shaved alot of emblems and trim , made flush airdam, Motor is low mile stock 2800, all metalwork was up to par with any metal man, made new rocker covers with a bit diffirent roll but nothing hangs below scrub line, color is 2012 bmw (euro only) not for everyone , started with a fairly low mile car that had been parked for 20 yrs, interiour was totaly history, floor was soft so it got a new floor , all the usual places that rust were solid. drives smooth and handles great.

Thanks for help from your posts and some horse trading ive done here.

Cole,

That is nice! What is the name on this color; Marakesh Metallic? I thought about this color too. Are you in Salinas? I'm in Monterey and would love to see your car in person at some point.

Cole,
Gorgeous colour for the CS body - looks every "fluid". The e9 body and the shaved belt line trim works well. Maybe change the front turn signal lens for the slimmer euro model coupeguy sells? Again, it's a gorgeous interpretation of the perfect automotive form. Well done.

There has to be

I think there are allot of manufacturers out there that could use you in their design studio!

Cheers on your "art-work"

Merakesh is the color, my lens are flush with body( I made a box inside fender for light, made rear lens also smooth red, lost the amber.

Bumper is an 2000cs, welded into one piece and lights shaved off then metal finished and sprayed with aluminum.

Thanks Peter , I do cars and bikes for a living and never try to change a design to much I just try to take some ugly away, helps to start with such a nice shape.

The hardest part of this car was to get it to have a good stance, and have a good ride, and turn.ect. It does it all with 17 X 8 and 17 x 9 wheels off the 5 series.

May not be for everyone, but I think it looks badass! Can you tell us more (possibly with pictures?) about your suspension modifications, and more about how it handles?

I dont have pics on my lap top but will post some soon.

the rear I moved the third member up as high as I could by sectioning the box its mounted to, and raised each of the four brackets that mount the wishbones strait up 2.5 inches , made modifacation to subframe where yoke is, removed original spring cups off subframe and body , changed springs to 2.5 inch diam. and made new spring cups and moved closer to the middle of car about an inch , had to trim some sheet metal but not much, just had to trim a flange, I run a little shorter KYB shock in stock set up, trunk is un touched, I run a stainless rear muffler in stock position its just a bit smaller so it dosent hang down past rearend, I did that mostly to be able to get a floor jack under rearend ,muffler was always in the way.

front I cut the tube off spindle a few inches up on tube, then sliced that down center machined a chrome moly solid chunk with a flange, heli arc that piece to tube/spindle that bolt's a coilover to spindle (now is adjustable camber at spindle) coilover is 2.5 diam spring adjustable ride hight, had to move upper stock strut bearing as far towards the inside as possible and moved them forward a little bit to to get wheel a little more in center of wheel well still has plenty of castor , A-arms are an inch narrower on each, had to shorten steering links the same on both sides ,rolled lip ,and run 2 degrees of neg. camber,

alignment is perfect, smooth , stays very flat cornering without swaybar.

Colour and front seats

Your brown exterior seems very similar to what AUDI is using on their current models. My wife has one. Much darker brown than BMW´s Siena of the early 70s.
What car do the front seats come from?

I like it. Nice pure form, - if not the form for the purist. Reminds me of a fjord coupe I saw in Stockholm years ago.

With the shaved door handles, how do you open the door if the battery dies?

batterey is in trunk, key opens trunk.

seats are out of later bmw, mounted low.
