I recently purchased some Hella 139’s and (amazingly) BMW covers for them from @enoz05 (thanks!). What I don’t have is the brackets. I searched the site and it seems the most likely solution is to have them made. I think others might also have some interest.

What I/we need are some dimensions and any other detail that would help - gauge/thickness, hole size, metal type). If we put that together I’ll look for someone local that can make them. I imagine they’d get less expensive if a few people wanted same.

Thought about putting this in Parts, but not sure if E3/E9 are same. I’ve attached photo from @enoz05 . It’s the clearest I’ve seen. I’ll note it looks different that one I saw on another thread. The one I’ve attached looks shorter and thicker than the other I found.

Any help would be most appreciated. And, yes, I’ll just buy a pair if you have one for sale!

Thanks,

Joey

As you know I have a set of 139's, I still haven't had any time to think about these brackets and to be fair I don't think it will top the priority list for quite some time, and I don't have any other picture of the brackets other than the one you attached. So if you end up having these made, I'm in for a pair.
Yes - I'm very jelous that I didn't see the BMW covers for sale before they were already sold :D

Which part of the mount re you looking for, the " L " shaped piece of metal or the other bit that is mounted under it that looks bit like a clamp? If it just the metal bracket, time to see the metal shop, get a hacksaw and drill out and just bend one up, if it is the other piece, most driving/fog lights use something similar , sorry, don't know where to get them separately , I try to make sure when I but lights that they are attached already

I wonder if a place that sells lights sell those brackets ?

Thanks, Rick

@enoz05 - I did see that thread, thanks. I suppose if worse comes to worse, I can use the dimensions of the 139’s and calculate the approximate dimensions of the brackets, using the size relative to the 139’s using scale. It wouldn’t be exact, but perhaps close enough.

Knowing the width of the nuts from the other photo would give us a pretty good way to estimate/calculate the width of the bracket.

And, as Chris points out, it’s really just an ”L” bracket with a X degree twist.

I really need to keep-up on this more. Too much going on, these days!

@MortyBMW - Is the light a 139? Looks like it (I have one in my hand), but just want to make sure. If so, I’ll work with this to create dimensions. I should be able to use the dimensions of the light to create a scale to work from (at least in theory).

@MortyBMW - Thanks.

Once I do the measurements (and assumptions), I’ll post here for people to comment.

If anyone here is in Austin (@Peter Coomaraswamy @zinz ) and has suggestions for a place that might be able to fabricate these, I’d appreciate the referral.

Hi guys,

I had a couple of hours free last weekend, and with the e3 hanging on the lift waiting for other parts I thought I should give these brackets a go.
This was unfortunately not very well documented, as I didn't really think I would get it kind of right the first time I tried, but it actually looks okay.
I'm not sure they're in the correct/stock location, you be the judge.

The angle I went for was 55°, but I only got a vise and a hammer combined with too little heat for that size of flat bar (a hobby blow torch) - so the angle wasn't exactly 55° after bending it. Then I just eyed where the holes needs to go and drilled one 8,5mm for the bumper and one 11mm for the fog light.

Not hooked up yet.

These set of brackets came with a set of Hella 139's. I'm not 100% sure if these are the correct ones for E3, but they look a lot like it.

@enoz05 - They look similar, with that bend. It’s just that extra bend at the top that looks different. However, if you look at the picture MortyBMW posted, looks like there is an extra piece that the factory one had. It seems like it’s there to create stability.

Are these for sale?

If they work, I’d also be glad to have them copied so others can benefit (if the price to do so is reasonable to those wanting them).
