After a long delay, I will be posting on the forum again and want to work on a new project for CSL owners.

Keshav has asked me to create the ECE sticker specific to CSL models and I would like to know how many owners are interested to pre-pay and get these made. I will post again with what I believe is minimum number of orders + pricing -- FYI I will try to add some sort of (satin or matte) coating to make these decals as high quality & durable as possible.

Background info on ECE: (taken from BMW 2002FAQ member mokeef)

The "E" means that the glass has been approved for road use in Europe on European member licensed automobiles by the Economic Committee of Europe (ECE). The number next to the "E" indicates the country which approved the item.

The numbers are as follows:
1 - Germany;
2 - France;

The file is ready so the timeline could be around 3-4 weeks depending on when I can start.

Again looking to get feedback from CSL owners and would like to see if at least (25) would like to pre-purchase these to get them made.

Thanks all and I will be in touch,

Mo

Thanks both for your interest. I will attach low dpi artwork of what the decal will actually look like. I will also ask any CSL owner willing to help to confirm the actual decal size with me. Via post or PM

I will wait a little to build up interest then send the artwork for a sample print + coatings. Members can then take a look at the quality and we can choose a coating or none.

Before all of that there should be a number of owners interested and willing to pre-pay as I gather pricing information.

Thanks for your patience.

Of course! I can inverse the file and the final decal will look 99% as original :)

If any CSL owner has questions or comments please feel free to ask

I am hoping experts can share more information. My thoughts are that every CSL owner can use these regardless due to the fact that it is for Europe only (all CSL's are built to this spec) and also it has 'CSL' specifcally on the title.

Of course I am always open to learning more on the subject.

Cheers,

Mo

I guess only a brochure will reveal which Csls had them or not since only an original car owner could give a quailified answer. The 4555xxx had them for sure. And as Mo put it, for a Csl with the inscription sure beats the standard one available.

This is the full E code list: looks like it may be different for UK & Italian owners etc...

1 - Germany;
2 - France;
3 - Italy;
4 - Netherlands;
5 - Sweden;
6 - Belgium;
7 - Hungary;
8 - Czech Republic;
9 - Spain;
10 - Yugoslavia;
11 - United Kingdom;
12 - Austria;
13 - Luxembourg;
14 - Switzerland;
15 - (vacant);
16 - Norway;
17 - Finland;
18 - Denmark;
19- Romania;
20 - Poland;
21 - Portugal;
22 - Russian Federation;
23 - Greece;
24 - (vacant);
25 - (vacant); and
26 - Slovenia

If no one is really interested that is OK also -- I will do more research in the meantime.

CSL owners....
Mo is ready with the Csl E Code decals. If there is any interest in this Csl special please contact Mo so he can judge whether the minimum required to make it feasible for him is met or not.
Mo can elaborate on the details.
Since we possibly won’t get a qualified answer on which series had them, I for one would like to replace mine with this Csl specific one.
