recently a good guy from this forum helped me with my old request to trade an RH indicator for a LH indicator

everything was fine, and i found some curious differences that i want to share

the RH was original NOS
the LH was original BMW part but more recent production

so here they are:

LH is original BMW refabrication, RH is NOS

you can feel that the shape is excellent in LH, RH is rougher

electric connections are really different, original on the RH looks appropriate for the function, the new version seems a bit non professional and also dangerous for a non protected length of cable holding +12volts

Interesting.
My observations are:
- I bet you provided the NOS part, not the other guy.
- NOS parts are such an interesting market that it may be worth investing in manufacturing more NOS parts.

exactly, the guy was actually provided by his own family, settled in a nice place and doing well, i provided a NOS RH blinker light because i bought two RHs some years ago

ahhh the NOS market, china is the place for manufacturing those with unlimited accuracy, i have been told that they even make the original boxes from cardboard that comes from period correct trees, and they have huge machines that produce randomly storage damage patterns in those boxes so the box itself costs more than the f-NOS part

but that is another story...

curious, the plastic cover is SIDDLER
but the base is not, although it is marked BMW
