But seriously I have seen people mounting such markers on the corners if the driveway or other locations where someone might not notice there is a risk once someone is parking the car. Very useful even not supplied/illuminated. With current solar cell-based system it can make life easier during the night to navigate visitors.
Also it can be connected to the proximity sensor in the garage to inform the driver the car close enough...

... and many more potential applications together with BMW style guaranteed.
