Hi All,

Besides W&N, does anyone know of a US-based source for the front vented rotors for a CSi?

The machine shop that was cutting my front rotors have misplaced them and gave me a set back that does not fit an E9. They have been apologetic and have taken responsibility but have been unable to locate a replacement set for me. I have looked as well and have come up empty. The Dynamic Friction Rotors available at RockAuto do not fit. They need to change the listing.

Thanks for your help.

One thing that is very frustrating with the rotors, is that they don’t carry any markings. Even the factory BMW ones. So it’s hard to tell exactly what you have apart from the sticker on the box. I’ve had a set of non OEM fronts which barely lasted 8000 miles before starting to cause vibrations

Just my opinion- German steel rotors are different than Chinese steel rotors.

2 in England…

If centric doesn’t have them, I think you’re looking at Walloth and Nesch or eBay In England and about $500 with tariffs and shipping

Quite a lesson for them….

Check ROCKAUTO.COM they show inventory.

Hi--thanks for the response and the lead.

I ordered a set of the Dynamic Friction Rotors as listed on the Rockauto website and they did not fit unfortunately. The bolt pattern is different and the hat is not deep enough. Not sure why they keep listing it as for the E9 front.

Perhaps, parts catalogs and cross referencing have improved. But despite some generally reliable sites describing or depicting "vented" rotors, aftermarket part sources often confuse "vented" with "solid". The solid versions may share dimensional similarities with the vented rotors, but alas, they are clearly different in the width department. If possible, it might be worthwhile to obtain a personal confirmation from the vendor - that the rotor or rotors offered for sale is/are "vented."
