Front windscreen rubbers

All the rubber being sold to us out of Germany is actually made in Vietnam I believe.

My cost on windshield rubber is about $100.00 each for e9 and a bit more for e3.

Currently paying around $150.00 for e3 seals.

Less the VAT and include shipping is about $160.00 delivered from Germany.

Why not ask Stefan or Joachim to do this?

I used to complain to Stefan that I watched the planes fly over from Vietnam and back from Germany- why not just stop here in the states?

Hello SFDon, Stefan appears to be out of stock. Could you call for a order please!

Stefan goes in and out of stock continually.

I would check the site regularly- he meters out his stock.

I am also in the market for a front windshield seal; here is a pic of my trim. My car is a 72, so I think I need the 'thin trim' style? Someone please confirm, this is all very confusing.

Guys- I’m on a iPad in a little town on the coast of Portugal- I can’t access Stefan’s site. Pictures don’t show up for his parts.

It's my understanding that both seal types fit the windshield. If you have the thin trim and the only seal you can find is one that takes the thick trim (or visa versa), you may want to get the seal that is available and hunt for the corresponding trim.

Here are images of the front and back of the FRONT gasket that I have. I got it a few years back, not realizing that two types were made. This is an original part. Can someone identify as my Bav is still in storage?

@bavbob The only difference that I know of is that on the later one, the bottom anodized strip is wider than the other three sides and on the early one the anodized strips are all the same width. I would think that means the rubber is wider at the bottom than the other sides on the later one but I've never seen a late one to be sure.

So mine is wider at the bottom.......................

From what I understand, they are all the same geometry on the sealing surfaces, the only difference is trim width, lower edge of windshield. So if the trim width on yours is teh same on the bottom vs side, it's an early seal. Would be interested in buying it from you, if so.
