NM/NA I have been waiting for someone to post but have not seen it on here yet. Sorry if re-post. I didn't see it.

Price is deceiving as there is an Issetta that owner is selling too in same ad. Does not separate prices for each. Looks very close to some of our members homes/shops. Have any of you got the scoop on this car? I'm sure somebody is interested even if it is in the actual selling price. Good one to follow up on for someone more interested than myself. I'm sure one of you already know the back story, I don't recognize the shop. Very little description wise, owner wants you to contact for all that. Been up for 6 days.

It looks a lot like the one Paul sold not too long ago at Autokennel.

What a terrible way to market a pair of high-end cars! I can't imagine how someone with the means to own these cars would try to save a nickel by selling them through CL with no price or description and few photos. My guess is that the "game" is more complex.

123,000 miles and he's asking for $50K. It's manual, recently resprayed and front seat has been refurbished with fresh leather.

I've asked him for pictures, and since he's local I may go and take a look. Not sure if $50,000 is reasonable.

Does 123,000 miles sound like too much or too little to you? That's only 2,860 miles per year over 43 years - seems low/reasonable to me.

Are you sure the asking price is $50K? The CL ad says that the Isetta + e9 = $100K, but that doesn't mean the $100K is split 50 - 50 between the two.

Asking prices for classic cars - any classic car, not just e9's - can range widely. Sometimes sellers are overly optimistic (like that VW van in Aptos http://www.e9coupe.com/forum/showthread.php?p=164304#post164304). Sometimes the condition of the car warrants a big number (like the CSL at Canepa discussed here a few weeks ago http://canepa.com/photo-gallery/1973-bmw-30-csl5151/). But don't expect the asking prices - or eventual selling prices - to conform to Haggerty's, SCM's, or anyone else's guidelines.

The person who posted the car on CL emailed me with the $50,000 figure and no 123,000 miles doesn't sound like much.

I used to have a 1994 Mercedes E320 with high miles (sold it with over 370,000 miles on it of which I was responsible for 250,000 of them) and before that I had a 89 260E with over 230,000 miles.

I miss both of them, and never had to do anything besides the normal maintenance.

I actually prefer a high mileage well taken care of car over a low miles average or neglected car.

I'm looking to buy an E9 and daily drive it.

It is not the mileage that is high, it is the $50k for a daily driver.

I would drive daily a $50k car I like but it would not be me daily driver...
