Nice car and WAS a great find.
FWIW, I had my E3 sprayed in the original Riviera blue and the paint alone was about $1000.

I concur Chris. 7 digit beginning with 1B was very early 1981 and 7 digit beginning with 1M***** was very early 1985. At some point in the early 1980's the reflectorized white plates were optional and began with 2A*****. The 7 digit blue with yellow were phased out near the end of 1986/early 1987 with 1S*****. After which time, the reflectorized white with blue letter 7 digit plates became standard issue. The forgoing comments are based on cars I purchased new during that era. More info than necessary for this thread but accurate nonetheless.
