FS @ Ebay - RARE RHD BMW E3 2500 w/ Webasto Sunroof AUTO

Huh? I don't recall seeing this car for sale. Always on Ebay? Just doesn't hit reserve or what? What is the story do you know? Originally English or Japanese delivery or ?

Interesting! Never seen that before.
For the record

I wish there was a one click ebay ad saver. I had an old merc with a huge cloth sunroof. Loved it.

I believe, but am NOT sure, that his car belonged to a friend of mine here in Bucks County, PA. It came with the British title with some kind of authentication connecting the title to the Queen, not Freddie Mercury. He put considerable money into it but had to sell it. He did not, as far as I know, address the serious! rust issues. It did go to a buyer in CA for approximately $3,000.00. It has been on ebay at least twice since he sold it.

I loved it and would have bought it if I could have afforded to address the rust issues.
The velour is lovely, the open sunroof is like riding in a convertible. A great car, but!

If someone is interested in this car PM me and I can probably put you in touch with my friend.

Was on Craigslist for a long time for $12,000.00. Most publications deduct 10% for a RHD car if a LHD was available for the same model/year. In this case someone would really have to want to be different with a RHD car. There are no advantages other than being near the curb when parallel parking or being closer to the gas pump. I don't see any other advantage in the U.S. Oh and they rust just the same as a LHD car. Odd isn't it...

I remember seeing it on e-bay and can't get beyond the aftermarket sunroof. Just doesn't work with this car and the era. Also, RHD cars are weird to drive here in the states...

I too have a Wabesto sunroof RHD

I have a Webasto sunroof on my CSI, it's great for the Britsih summers, and also nice for crisp winters days. Compared to a 1970s convertible that I had years ago I prefer this approach to open top motoring, it is quieter when closed and less windy when open. Mine too had grey velour, until it got changed yesterday - I will post pictures when it is cleaned up.
Also RHD works great here, but I accept that having the steering wheel on the same side as most other drivers makes things easier. When we take our cars into mainland Europe the RHD is not such a great issue, pay tolls excluded if on your own.
If there was a LHD CSL in the UK at the right price would you be interested? If the opposite option was available I would find a way get it and bring it across the pond. So thanks for showing us that this car is there as a Brit, Oz, Thai, NZ etc member may have thanked you.
Best wishes
C
