Intake manifold to stock air cleaner, Weber DGV 32/36’s manual choke. Let’s call this package a “rebuildable core” as the car was sitting for at least 18 years. Happy to separate if no one wants the whole deal. Make offer. In northern CA, but will ship.

Hi 'ayiakis'

I am interested in converting from Zenith carbs in my bavaria to Weber 32/36. Ideally, they would have electric choke; I want to simplify the set up and move away from coolant choke. I did have a 3.0s with 32/36s with cable choke and it worked well. I have no idea what your package is worth and I do not want to insult you or other members with a too low offer.

Do you know if these need any repair or parts?

Regards
Bill

Parts wise it is complete, but I think a full rebuild is in order for the carbs, just because they sat for so long, however, I did get the engine running ok, but was unable to actually drive the car, (no clutch, etc...). All offers encouraged, I won’t have hurt feelings....

Bill - In my view, if you want to do away with the coolant choke, then the manual choke is the way to go. Simple and robust. Main disadvantage is the need to run the cable through the firewall, which entails punching a hole in your coupe. I did not have a choke setup at all in Virginia, and now that I've moved further south have even less need for one, but it can get pretty cool up where you live.

Hi 'Ohmess'

I had a cable choke on a 3.0s with Weber 32/36 conversion, in the late 80s. It worked well in all weather; though the girl friend at the time did forgot to push the choke cable in when the car warmed up.

These are for a '73 bavaria not a E9. Maybe some day though o_O

I also want to the cooling system to bypass the manifolds. Do either of you or the Forum members have insight/advise regarding that?

Thanks!
Bill
