First of all, buy one of these grills from @TomHom! A true Gentleman, exquisite e9 Pilot, and trustworthy seller.

Now that i've shamelesly promoted your parts - can I ask: did anyone ever come accross a grille where the vertical bars, when looking from behind, do not show the wavy (non-straight) appearence?

I know that they are slightly curved down towards the lower front engine side, and that it is likely an effect of bending a straight U profile into that slight curve. But if done correctly deformation of the sides can be prevented.

I just am annoyed that when i look at my grille I see those waves instead of seeing the whole beauty of the Coupe's lines....

Erik, your post brought up an interetsing memory for me. When I first bought my E24 in 1990, I needed the struts replaced and at that time, had neither the knowledge or tools to do so. I brought the car to a small shop and they started the work but 10 min in, the owner showed up and stopped the work and said to me "I'm sorry but I don't work on BMW's, I have found the owners are perfectionists"................Yes we are!

These struts are cut from thin metal sheet, then folded and afterwards bended to this arch shape. These waves are a result of the bending. Usually not as much as seen on your pic. Maybe because you live to close to the sea?
Yes, and thanks so much for your kind words. I will always remember our tour to the Bicester meeting, your words when approaching the roundabout "drive left look right", "90, 180, 270 degrees", great fun!!
