I just finished making a couple of sets of E9 door panel trim. I have been working on this project for some time and feel that the end results are as good as I expected. They are make using a wood profile, than covered with aluminum tape. It is a cheap alternative to the hard to find originals. Believe me on you will know that they are not the originals. I am thinking around $30 each, seeing it took me over an hour from each piece not including the materials which were not that expensive. I have two options for attaching them to the cards and am still working out the best of the two.
Anyone interested in photos or a small sample piece p.ease PM me your email or address.
Thanks

Great thinking Harry!

The original trim was held on by a tack strip with posts at a set distance. They fit through holes in the door card. Since you are using wood you can drive pin nails through the wood in the right spots, and bend them over on the backside of the door panel. The original tacks were bent over the back side as well.
