Original 4-speed that came with my '73. Includes transmission with bell housing and shift platform. I bought the car in parts and was told it was running and driving when removed with full intent to put it back in, but I swapped for a 5-speed. Seems to spin well, selector moves freely, no obvious signs of damage or leaks, but untested.

$350 plus shipping for all

Will you be selling any of your clutch components? Interested in a used flywheel potentially, because I cannot find a new replacement anywhere online.
Open to suggestions if anyone knows where to find a retailer.
 
Or call Dave at Aardvark- make sure his has a step machined in it.

I personally love the 4-speeds, especially for mountain driving. I hate buying and selling something at the same time, meaning, I need some kind of reference to a number you have in mind? It would be easy to ship in a simple plastic container you get at Home Depot or whatever. Just use a couple ratchet straps and FedEx will ship. Inculde the straps in the shipping cost. I may buy just for a backup. Can you throw a number out there? Supposed to anyway on the board for selling stuff.

In order to have your new clutch work properly the flywheel must have it’s friction surface machined flat. The step height is critical to proper clutch operation. Whenever a stepped flywheel is resurfaced, how ever much material is removed from the friction surface must also be removed from the upper step. Most automotive machine shops use a special flywheel resurfacing machines for this task






Flywheel step height is critical and a couple thousandths can have a drastic affect on the spring plate geometry and how the clutch works
 
I’m not entirely sure what this is all worth, they seem to fluctuate wildly in price. I listed it on eBay with a starting price of 450, but would be willing to sell it to folks here for less. I’ll DM you to discuss.

For shipping, I still have the Home Depot bin my 265 came in, so on the same page there.

Price update - $350 plus shipping for all obo
 
Meaning I prefer driving mountain roads than long road trips on the freeway where you would want a 5th gear. The four speed gear ratio to me works out well, especially 3rd gear up and down the passes. If running freeway speed, I don't scream down the rown, keep it at 65-70 and the M30B30 seems to purrrr, although a slight whine, I don't mind it.

the 4 and 5 speed have the same ratios in 1-4 gears, 5th is just OD.
