I have a set of custom adjustable front strut housings made by Paul Cain. I bought this set from him in 2013 to use on one of my E12s, but both cars sit well enough for my liking and the M535i has a larger spindle, using a different bearing and hub and I also wanted to stay as correct as possible on that car. At this point, they're just sitting on the shelf and looking at the projects I've got lined up and the likelihood I'll ever pick up a car that could use these is slim. This set of strut housings began life on an E12 528i, but there's nothing that prevents them from being used on an E9 or E3.
If you're not familiar with how these work, they work very similarly to an adjustable coilover in that you can adjust the position of the spring perch relative to the strut - either up or down. These are ideal if you have a spring you like the feel of, but it causes an issue with ride height, so you can dial that into your liking. If the front sits too high, you can lower it within reason and if it's too low - tire hits the fender at full lock on a bump, you can raise it up. The world is your oyster with these.
All parts have been powder-coated for a durable finish (though the threaded collar and the rings have not for obvious reasons). Despite what you see in the photos, two rings are included. The second one is still in it's original box.
Asking $550 plus shipping from 85009.
