Fuel Injection Gaskets and Rings

My 72 CSL has an intermittent fuel leak. If I start it every few days it does not leak. If it sets for a longer period of time, fuel pours down the driver side of the block. The leak seems to be coming from the top of one of the injectors.

I want to remove the intake runners/pipes and correct this problem. I will need new gaskets and sealing rings for the injectors. Where is the best place to get these items? I have taken the car to two reputable (?) mechanics, and it will not leak for them; because they start it, and it will not leak as I have said before. One replaced the back two hoses thinking that would solve the problem. $250 wasted there! So, I guess I will have to do it myself. I want to replace all of the suspect parts while I'm in there.

My question: Where is the best place to get these items? I can always go to the stealer, but they may or may not want to deal with this older model? Thanks for any helpful input. RB

Prob get all 6 injectors and their little hoses rebuilt. Witchhunter.com or Fuel Injection Corp. And replace the other old fuel hoses while at it ☺ Shouldn't cost that much...

Fuel injection corp includes the 6 big and 6 little for free with cleaning

That's 6 hoses and 12 orings
Supply your own fuel rail hose.

The engine runs great. No need to clean injectors? Just the annoying occasional leak at one injector. Just thought I would replace the rubber rings on all while I am in there assuming one is causing the leak. Probably need to replace the rubber hoses and intake runner gaskets too. Just need to know best place to get the supplies. RB

I would clean the injectors, my car was running good before I tore it apart but still wanted to make sure they were tested and cleaned. Here is two pictures, before and after ultrasound wash.

Not sure if it is noticeable, but it feels better knowing they are ok ;)

Cheers,

I redid my whole intake system when I got the car. Gaskets and such for the manifolds from BMW, had the injectors cleaned by a local FI shop. I couldn't feel the difference bbut the flow charts showed tow were pretty bad. If you local dealer doesn't want to deal with you, complain to BMW Classic.
