I went on a drive yesterday with some new car buddies...

It was a gorgeous day with a beautiful, scenic tour on the back roads of Whidbey Island.

I clocked 180 miles. This is the longest I have driven my Bavaria at one time. The car ran great.

I had filled the tank before the tour and then topped off after the tour at the same gas station and same pump and same auto shut off. I had about the same number of miles at 65-70 MPH as I had at 35-45 MPH with some stops. 3.0, 38/38 Weber DGAS, 4 speed, 3.64 axle.

I know it is a very small sample. I got 16.7 MPG.

This is about what I expected. Maybe high teens with all highway, and low teens for city? What are others seeing with their E3s and E9s?

I kept records when i used my e9 as a daily.
I did 4.5 km for every liter ( i think that's 10.5 miles /gallon), over a 20.000 km period.
It should be twice that when well setup; it wasn't ..... it even smelled like gas straight out the exhaust, and I drove it like I was 18...

Folks: Just a thought - please share differential ratios if possible. "3.0 CSi with a 5-speed, 24 mpg" is very encouraging! Are you running L-Jet?

Triple webers
18-19 mpg hiway at >75 mph
<10 city probably, never checked
5 spd and 3:64 diff
