Fuel pump type

The fuel pump for all of the e32&e34 was common to the m5 of that era. You probably need the intank pre pump conversion for the CS depending on what you are putting the s38 into. I bought the conversion unit for my CS from La Jolla Independent.

Does the CSi already have this prep pump?

What are you putting the s38 into - CS or CSi?

Alan,

with a stock CS, you will need to run a secondary return fuel line. i recommend that you use a metal line.

If you are not concerned with staying stock ( given that you are swapping in the s38 that certainly is the case ) you have some options as to where to plumb in the pump and lines. Here's my installation using a 255LPH Walbro fuel pump http://walbrofuelpumps.com and a home built surge tank. As recommended a metal return line (think it was a OEM CSi supply line that I re-bent as required).
