I am looking for a fuel pump. Car is 72 BMW 3.0Cs in restoration.
There are 2-3 fuel pumps on ebay but too much price difference.

Part number: 13311251055 Price: $55
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-BMW-280...ash=item41b5fd03a5:g:S3QAAOSwuAVWy25~&vxp=mtr

Part number: 13311260677 Price: $ 158
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-OEM-Fue...ash=item41ba49e430:g:-CAAAOSwux5YWc0g&vxp=mtr

I looked at real OEM and it says (Part number: 13311251055 Price: $55) Superseded by (Part number: 13311260677 Price: $ 158)

What is the main difference between them and is it worth to pay that difference ?

It looks like the more expensive one might be genuine BMW, which appears to be NLA. If you are going for strict originality, that would be a good bet. Otherwise, a different brand pump would probably be fine. Here are some other sources:

Seems that Pierburg is the common non-OEM brand.

The first one looks like junk to me, for such a critical component I wouldn't skimp - the options from sreams look good. Those pumps are also rebuildable so you can pack a spare diaphragm for road trips..

I accidently found one fuel pump on Facebook in Istanbul and bought it right away to avoid stupid int. shipping and custom issues.
This is supposed to be original but had no box etc.
After couple days of receiving it, seller is asking me "did it fit to E9 ?" Looks like he is not sure what he sold. Now I am little bit worried.

Does this look like a pump for E9? (according to my research it looks like real but I am also aware of fake pierburg discussions)

I have no chance to try this on the car now because the car is in the beginning of restoration in another city 6 hours away.

Yes, looks fine, just be sure battery is fully charged, and you are certain no air leaks in fuel line connections from tank to pump. Good luck! I agree, Customs fees and shipping charges are really difficult to understand. I mean....way to expensive! Mike

Hey Retro46 -- If you have difficulties with that pump, you can have mine cheap. It is the oem pump in good working order; I needed to remove it to make room for my triple Weber carb setup.

Thanks but it looks like I solve the problem.

I have a question for you.
May be it is a stupid question but Why do you need to remove this to put your Weber carb setup?

I want to put webers too if I find them near me.

Yes, there are different Webers that people use in our cars. I believe the dual downdraft Weber DGAVs are the most common. I had these on my car when I bought it.

I changed to a triple Weber DCOE setup and because these are sidedraft carburetors, the intake trumpets point toward the brake booster.

A a matter of interest, my South African CSA used to suffer from heat evaporation and be difficult to start on really hot days, I fitted a small Facit 12v fuel pump that used to be in Mini Coopers from the same era and hid it down the front bulkhead, took 5 minutes to couple up in case the fuel pump packed up... total cost about 20 US.
