Fuel pump woes

I connected the gauge between the rail and the cold start injector (middle of the intake manifold).
All hoses look sound.
I guess we'll see soon enough, a quick email to Walloth & Nesch and a replacement is on its way, no questions asked !

Here is the deal....I do not know why, yet my car did not have an adequate ground signal to the rear of the car. (Age and rust?) I had exactly the same problem you describe. I ran a 14 gauge wire from the battery grounding point, through the car (under the rugs and tucked to the right interior of the car following speaker wires) to a clean point next to the ECU under the right rear seat. Not intuitive for sure but this was the fix. You can test this by just running a length of wire outside of the car from the battery ground and to the ground terminal at the pump.

Thanks everyone. I'll try another wire to ground the pump and will replace the capacitor as well, just to be sure. Won't get a chance to do till after the weekend, but will let you know how I get on.

Hi All,
Just to let you know how I got on. I'm embarrassed to say, that the hose between the fuel tank and the pump had a tiny split, and so the pump was sucking a good measure of air with fuel, hence the low pressure. Replaced the hose and she fired up. All good now. Thanks for all the help. Regards Brett
