Fuel Pump?

Greetings, everybody.

It turns out that my new fuel pump has been destroyed by gunk in the tank. So, I need another new pump. My car was running the standard external Bosch Motronic pump, with no internal pump. Is there a better way, or can I just use the regular external pump again, although with a pre-filter or something?

Instead of using the Bosch pump try a MSD #2225 pump from Jeg's. You can order it online and they're $114 , and I think spipping was included. They are rated at 43 GPH and your pressure regulator will do the rest. It comes with brackets and they are good enough to feed hungry M5 engines. Good Luck Leroy

As a side note, is it possible to use the in-tank pump system from a later car ( E12/E28 ) so I can use the in-tank pump and external pump, as the designers intended?
