I've decided to clean up the loft and move some parts along;

Complete and matching lock set from a 74 including the valet key (2 doors, glove box, trunk and ignition). Yes, that's an adjustable steering column and it goes with the ignition lock.

SOLD to first responder... thanks for all the inquiries everyone.

Thanks- Richard

bump > price reduction...

Not sure what a set is worth or if available new... any and all feedback welcome.

Just curious if anyone knows if the adjustable steering column is easily retrofitted to a 71'?

Bob,

More involved then just the components seen. You would need the shaft from the box as well, it is shorter, and has a huge nut to attach to column shaft. Also, trim above column is one piece, not two I think. Just took one of these out of an e12 for Paul C.

Thanks for the info Chris. Sounds like too much work.

Chris,

What's your thought on the availability of a full set? I originally saved this set because I'd never seen a complete set with a functioning valet key...

Thanks- Richard

Bob,

its a lot of work. it is possible as i have one in my '71. but the previous owner did it when they did the tranny and engine swap and painted the entire car.

Bob,

one more thing, you also have to get a different under dash panel - they are hard to find in great shape. took me 2 years to find one.

It is probably worth $150-$200 without the column if all keys match, it is pretty easy to get ignition switch out. Rekeying ain't cheap.

Awesome. That is what makes this group so great, parts available at reasonable prices for members in need. Gotta love it.

:p
