Attached is my redesigned side vent grille with a built in turn signal indicator.
I want the vents to be functional for my E9/M5 -S85 build. I also want to shave the from turn signal indicators.

Can we see a photo from further away?

I was wondering how this looked from further back? I think I like it as is, no doubt the prurists will be so keen.
Do you know why the original did not have any air flow, interrupting the design may have some effects that I can't think of? But a different engine will certainly change many things from original.

Best wishes with the project.

Cool, would the lights be visible from the front? Any laws about distance from the front of the car for DOT?

rough draft

this was an earlier version of the vent and car is still in the works but you can see for context.

The open vents will have sealed ducting to release heat from the engine compartment ? If they are just open to the wheel wells the tires will throw water, mud and sand through them making a mess on the side of the car and sandblasting the paint off the edges of the vent opening. I guess it would work on a garage queen type show car or a race car but not something that’s actually street driven . ~ John Buchtenkirch

Don't worry we will make sure they are designed and fitted properly.....car will be driven

The royal We, or is this you & your spleen?

"We" means consensus among the different voices inside one's head.

When you say "I" like it the opinion is just for the predominant voice, and buyer's remorse may come later as a different voice.

We do not like the jackets with buttons in the back that two nurses are trying to put on us. We like the padded walls though.
