Fuse/Hood Door alternative attachment methods

The bottom hinge broke on the fuse panel/hood door of my 2800CS. At the same time I attempted to install new speakers that were in the kick panel and just realized that the new speakers with the instal ring prevent the door from opening! Lovely surprise.

My question is has anyone changed their setup in a way in which the door is just removable and what sort of hardware was used. Realistically I already need to find a fix for the hinge and the door would be more convenient if it could just go away while being worked on. It was already opening randomly every time I hit a bump.
 
I did not. There are magnets that have removable adhesive backing that you can stick the magnet anywhere you want. You can also use Black Velcrow which works great.
I do have some small magnets and black velcro that I can send you. i will need your full name and mailing address.
