Gary (m5bb) + George (bimmerbud) came out today in Gary's coupe and ran a montecarlo rally with the GA sports car club. Gary's car is sounding good with the new built engine with triples. he says its not dialed in ... but its getting there. the coupe drew a lot of attention as he drove it up.

my coupe is still apart in the garage, so i was out in the 911 with my son as navigator. it will be out there soon though.

And the winners are..... Scott and Son had the best (lowest) score overall.
I think it was less than 30 seconds in 4 hours of rally???

I only have one question....
Do you have Air Conditioning?

Atlanta Weather
Sun
Chance of Storm
91°
80% humidity

Us wusses on the left coast can only imagine this.

well my 911 does ... one of the reasons i was in it. it also has seat a/c ... which is wonderful. Gary ran with the windows open as there was something not right with his a/c. we were just lucky we ran today and not friday or saturday. it was really hot those days. it was cloudy today and a cool front came thru

I drove from S. Carolina to Ft. Myers a few weeks ago in a coupe with no AC....
It felt like you chew the air.

much higher humidity in the low country. atlanta is 1000+ ft above sea level. not near as humid here.

It was 99 degrees and 70% humidity here today. Nonetheless I took der coupe out for a run mid day with ac on, I have one vent aimed between my legs and the other over my right hand towards my face. Solenoid keeps the idle up at stop lights. The rotary compressor/parallel flow condensor is a major upgrade and blows ice cold despite the heat. But the dash absorbs the sun and radiates heat, and all that glass...Ok for single occupant.

Scott always wins the tsd rallys

You moved from the Cayman S to a 911? Sweet.

yep, i bought a 2011 911s w/ pdk tranny and sport chrono plus. will cross 60 in 4.1s its a hoot. i have to say, i'm not a good enough driver to get everything out of a 911. maybe not even out of the cayman s ... but i think the cayman s is more forgiving and perhaps more balanced ... but those big wide shoes on the back of the 911 compensate for a lot
