Gas tank seal

What to use for seal between gas tank and trunk floor? W&N sells some sort of foam tape. Is this really recommended for this use?

3M Strip Caulk, don’t use anything that can absorb moisture.

Right! Do not use open cell foam because the moisture it will retain leads to corrosion. But closed cell insulation "tape" from your local hardware store will work great. So will Strip Caulk.

Which manufacturer? Does it come in narrow widths or do you cut it to size? Thanks

I use Grace shield. I cut a strip to adhere to the tank support lip, make them a little wider than the lip itself. Sticky side up against the tank lip.

Red arrow is the tank, blue arrow is the ice and water shield with a small amount sticking out , white arrow is the opening for the tank.

The extra width (blue arrow) stops stuff from accumulating between the tank lip and the cutout for the tank.
