Gear stick turning

Can anyone help with how to stop the gear stick rotating? I assume it’s not supposed to. Thanks.

there are threads on this that can be searched, basically you need to replace the 2 bushings in the upper half of the shift lever. Or just change to a knob with no logo

Hello!
Doing some tidy up on my E9 in time for spring just around the corner. A few electrical niggle resolved now to the gear lever…
My gear shift rotates in the gearbox and doesn’t seem to tighten, not even slightly. I thought I had a stripped thread on the shift knob - but definitely not that.
Any tips or suggestions (other than pulling the box) would be appreciated.

Just a comment, I changed the bushings, and mine still rotates, I have accepted it as you accept a son with his little deffects and great virtues
