Genuine 3.2 CSL Batmobile for sale in UK

Now that’s the real kind of coupe top to bottom the kind that sells for over the $100,000 price and should. I remember a Bat like this that sold at Christy’s for $153K about 2006.

Almost perfect but ...

Maybe the owner intended to only run it on the track be a straight race setup with no air filters. Sure would be nice if they'd found and fitted the Alpina airbox to feed the triple DCOE's.

I was also a tad surprised to see the rusty headers. If they were vintage, I wonder why they weren't at least dipped clean and ceramic coated. Still, nice to see a real BAT for sale as they are pretty rare beasts.

The Taiga Bat 4355049 was renovated, partly in Belgium. It was sold at Bonhams in August 2009 for 150k USD. The car is a city-pack car with power steering, rear power windows etc.

Very nice car in a very nice color. Should have a three-fin spoiler/wing. Correct as is says that only four bat exist in Taiga. However, not correct that only a third of the Bats in this serie exist today. The fact is nearly two third of these bats are known today. But it doesn't matter for the price.

A very late Bat, in a rare color, is always very expensive. As an investment, the value will most surely increase in the future.

Cheers

Wow didnt realize its been two years. I did bid on that car from an italian restaurant on my cell phone. ;) Needless to say, I didnt win and was outbid by a gentleman from the UK.

Great investment

The asking price translates to 227,000 USD.
A nice profit of 70k in two years!
Was this car in New Jersey for a time? I seem to recall it had Jersey plates at the time of the auction.

Probably interesting for the community (and any potential buyer) to know this car had a sunroof at some point. The car has been entirely restored, this is indisputable, but I would strongly suggest a specialist having a close look at it prior putting this kind of money on the table. As a matter of fact, one should check that panels used during the restoration truly are CSL thin gauge panels. Is a CSL with CS panels still a CSL and a car that commands such money ? Maybe people don't care ? My two cents.

Many thx for the photo. I have seen photos showing the car before the renovation. The car had cut-outs in the front - for the steel bumber, US-model side turn indicators, a telescopic antenna on the front wing and no Bat-kit.

However, the car is a city-pack. It came from the factory with steel bumpers, front and rear. The thin gauge is logically most likely not there. It could have an impact on the value. On the other hand, it's not many of the last batch CSLs which are really light.

It's one of the very last CSLs (only 8 cars after this one). Also, one out of four Taiga in this serie. And it's definitely a CSL. Although, a "heavy" CSL Bat with city-pack, power steering, rear power windows, power mirror etc. One could say, it's a fully loaded CSL. The only things missing from the CSL-option list 1974-1975, are the AC and the Bamberg car stereo with micro. But, I really do understand your question as "L" stands for Leichtbau (light).

I have noted that the car, also after the renovation, has the usual small "errors" (wrong rear emblems, wrong kidney, several wrong details in the engine bay etc). All, very easy to correct.

I think the value of the car is really high. Of course, under the condition that the renovation has been properly done.

Cheers

The sunroof was most likely added after it left the factory. When the car was restored it was probably eliminated to be brought back to its original factory condition. I dont see a problem with that, kind of looks ridiculous with a pop up moonroof. These kind of roofs were commonly added to cars in the 80's.

One of the other four Taiga bats is actually outfitted with A/C telescopic antenna and all the options you listed above. The car has been for sale for many years in Holland. Another resides in Texas in the US, and also shows the signs of having steel front bumpers and many non lightweight options.

how much would you pay for this car, if u was buying it,
is it worth the asking price to you or not!!!!

i think a offer of 130K sterling is fair.
