Arrived at pick and pull yesterday.... In a '82 633csi.

I took the tranny support and the speedo cable bolt. I left the tranny and diff for one of our forum members whomever needs them.
Still there this afternoon.
Merry Xmas !

Hint- Stockton is the city.

Is that the combo I should be scouring the North East for?

It's the big boy Santa package deal.
I only see a few of these a year.

If nobody claims it I'm sending my picker out to grab it for myself!

errr....

Is the 265 the 5spd OD or CR tranny?
Can never remember.....thx

CR transmission only available in Euro cars and typically mated to 3.09 LSD.

Sorry for the thread jack, but I have always read that the CR one is not much fun to live with. Just wondering if an engine with triple webers, cam and headers would be a lot happier with the CR gearbox? I have a 3.45 diff, so wonder what the revs would be in top gear at 80MPH?

Would I be through first gear too fast with a CR Box?

FWIW: Have been running a CR box with a 3.45LSD for years, lotsa fun and sportier/quicker combo than a 5spd OD box with a 3.91LSD that was in our E9 vintage racer. 2,3,4th were a lil long getting outta the corners.

80mph = 3500-3750rpms in C/R 5th or 1 to 1 ratio, and admittedly not the ideal interstate freeway set up, but fantastic on twisty & sweepy country and mountain hwys.

If ya feel 'less hurried', just start out in 2nd. Its no trouble at all, just drive it like a quick/close 4spd....

;-)
