Hi am in process of pulling together parts for my 5 speed. I need either PN 23-71-1-175-314 or 23-71-1-175-731 can the forum please advise? The cross member I have is for an E28 M5 if anyone needs it?

If I’m not mistaken, I think the consensus is to upgrade the cross member when doing a 5-speed swap, Mine failed last year several years after the swap. Replaced it with this: http://www.coupeking.com/shop/product/e9-5-speed-conversion-mount-kit/ There are other threads discussing other options.
You are correct the two X members mentioned in my post are not optimal Germany just re- released the 314 X member a much better solution.
