Golf CSi on ebay

This car is tempting because it is only 30 minutes away. Golf is A very cool color.
I must remind my self that as soon as I install the electric fuel pump and lines I will have a fuel injected 5 speed coupe. Alas, a Polaris one not Golf.

I'm an old NJ bimmer guy myself (several senior sixes, three 2002's, used to autocross and do drivers schools with the NJ CCA chapter).

I'm looking for a super clean E9, and actually prefer one without the AC. Assuming the seller agrees, would you be willing to drive over and take a peek at this car? If it looked good I'd drive down this weekend to try to buy it. I'd be happy to spot you the cost of gas and a dinner for the favor.

Thanks

Golf e9

Looks in very good shape - whether it has 66K or 166K. Funky Euro velour seats, but wood in great shape. Don't know what his reserve was but surprised that the bidding stalled in four figures.

I too like Golf (I have never heard it referred to as a "safety color" but I get the point. I guess Inka is the other safety color). Both Golf and Inka are spectacular on CSLs.

If you track down the owner let us know what he asking price is (no my wife will not let me buy another car).

already sold! too bad

Owner sent email saying car was listed in multiple places and just sold today.

I'm not surprised it sold fast. It looks like a great car. Hope it stays local and on this board.
Would have been happy to look it over for you. Good luck in your search.

This one was for sale sometime late last year - did it sit unsold? or did it just get flipped?
I remember this one because it was one of the coupes (the others being the ex-Iida Alpina and the Art Simonds-made CSL) that got me re-interested in coupes. I blame the Bimmer article mentioned in the eBay ad. I still really like golf coupes.

I was so tempted...

3 college tutions in the fall and a wife with a gun made me pass. Here is my other Golf.

That CS had a rust bubble. That means it will completely fall apart within a couple months. ;-)

I have a Golf tii and never knew which color to call it. I usually say "highlighter yellow" to non-BMW people.

So 2002 owner - is it Golf yellow or Golf green?

I always called it golf yellow, but my kids called my golf CSL green. It's chartreuse and according to Webster's that is "a variable color averaging a brilliant yellow green." Brilliant it is, in both senses of the word!

golf is "green'

I had a golf Tii, restored by a 20+ year bimmerhead and he always, always told me golf was green, not yellow....I feel weird telling people as they look at me like I am nuts...
